With 214 entries and a whopping 5,326 votes, the Delta Dog Photo Contest is bigger and better than ever, celebrating the joy, loyalty, and spirit of Mississippi’s beloved dogs. From cuddly companions to skilled hunting dogs, our readers’ love for their furry friends shines through in every submission. This year, we introduced a new contest format with updated voting guidelines and revised winning designations, which was very well received by both participants and readers.
EDITORS’ CHOICE OVERALL WINNER
Selecting the Editors’ Choice winners is never easy, and our team carefully reviews each entry. After much deliberation, we are thrilled to award the 2025 Editors’ Choice Overall Winner to Chief, a stunning Labrador Retriever submitted by Sarah Hederman of Oxford. Chief is pictured proudly standing guard with the day’s harvest of ducks. Our editorial team also selected winners in the Sporting Dog, Puppy, and Candid Canine categories.
